The establishment of Özyeğin University by the Hüsnü M. Özyeğin Foundation began in 2005, following extensive research involving over 500 individuals from various backgrounds such as business, academia, and students.

Özyeğin University was officially founded on May 18, 2007, embodying a vision crafted collaboratively. It stands as a distinct institution committed to advancing societal progress through its contemporary education model, innovative structure harmonized with real-world applications, academic approach intertwined with industry needs, and specialized programs designed to meet these demands.

In September 2008, Özyeğin University welcomed its inaugural class on the Altunizade Campus. Three years later, in September 2011, the university expanded its campus to include the Çekmeköy location, further enhancing its educational offerings.

At Özyeğin University, our goal is to cultivate graduates who drive meaningful change and leave a lasting impact. Inspired by the ethos of leading institutions like MIT and Cambridge, Özyeğin University was founded as an entrepreneurial research university. Today, we remain steadfast in our commitment to developing projects that bring value to society. Our faculty members continuously work on innovative projects with potential for commercialization, alongside conducting research and publishing in prestigious international journals.

Designed by a renowned architecture firm, known for its work on prestigious institutions like the University of Cambridge and Princeton University, our campus holds the distinction of being Turkey’s first LEED-certified campus. Sprawling across 283,000 square meters, the campus provides a conducive atmosphere for students’ academic growth, offering modern classrooms, laboratories, quiet study rooms, a 15,000 square meter Athletic Center, a 2,825 square meter library, and two auditoriums with capacities of 350 and 372 people, respectively. It’s a place where students can not only excel academically but also engage in a variety of social, sports, and cultural activities.
