In 2008, the Development, Education, Culture, Health and Social Service Foundation took the initiative to establish Istanbul Gelisim Vocational School. This marked the beginning of a journey towards academic excellence and international cooperation.

Istanbul Gelisim University, in partnership with more than 130 global universities, is committed to promoting the international perspective among its undergraduate, associate, graduate and doctoral students.

Guided by the principle of “development” in meeting the needs of Turkey and the world, the IGU has proudly graduated more than 50,000 leaders who have received training according to its accreditations. With cooperation extending to more than 130 global universities, Istanbul Gelisim University encourages students at all levels to adopt an international outlook.

Located in Istanbul, a major financial and business centre, Istanbul Gelesim University provides its students with access to an extensive research complex with over 140 laboratories. Outside the classroom, the IGU has 20 research centers and 93 student clubs, facilitating participation in social, cultural, scientific and sporting activities.
